I hadn't been to Flickr for awhile.
imagine my surprise.
if you are having a hard time getting to the help forum link at the bottom of the page because of continual load load loading of photos, here is the link .
tell 'em what ya think.

my opinion, they dug their grave with this change.

years ago I met Marilyn.
she was a person close to Nature, I felt a special connection with her on our first walk in the forest
we were walking along the river bank and I heard her squeal with delight.
BLOODROOT ! she said, her favorite Spring bloom.
her joy was infectious and we were both doing the 'happy Spring dance'
a few years have passed since Marilyn left for The Great Mystery
... this bloom is in remembrance of my dear friend.

Spaz likes sleeping on the bed, all through the night ....or day
The other morning I woke up to these eyes only inches away, peering at me over the covers.
I woke up with a start, somehow knowing there were two big eyes staring into my sleeping brain :)
Spaz is wonderfully Spaztastic - we have a special bond
truly, there is something extraordinary about orange cats

I've been concerned for my friend ineedathis who is a Long Island resident.
other Flickr friends further to the west and north of NYC said most of Long Island is still without power.
sending lots of love to my friend Steve and those affected from the freak hurricane.
the news reports, photos and videos I've seen are so devastating.
it is heartwarming to see so many come to the aid of these hard hit communities.
many lost everything but the clothes on their backs - so heartbreaking.
the death toll in the U.S. is 110 people, and still 1,000,000 without power.
and now a Nor'easter ravaging the coast - like they haven't had enough!

UPDATE I have heard from Steve - he is safe!

Just a short note, we just got the power on the eleventh day feels great to sleep with some heat,
Well after Sandy we had the snow storm that did more damage on the Island,
all I can say is we have been lucky, others lost all their possessions out to Sea,
many homes were crashed by trees,
after Sandy I spend whole day clearing the branches from our property, I had four large trash cans
and four huge trash bags full of yard waste, still lots of work to do in the yard,
This weekend the weather will be warmer to cover our furniture on the patio,
P.S even our cell phones did not worked for days, and to toped off we have to wait on gas lines for 1 hour to fill our cars,

we had the usual flooding... nothing too awful destructive, only a little water in the basement
there was water coming in around the windows on the north side of the house at times
the wind was holding steady around 40 mph and gusts up to 60 mph
pounding rain was sideways.
at times a swirling sound and then total quiet for a few seconds on the roof of the back porch.
very strange, but others had also reported these odd calms in the winds.
thankfully no power outages for our hollow, just a few blinks

for those of us on the east coast - there is a ''Frankenstorm" headed our way
Hurricane Sandy is headed up the coast - it is predicted to mix with a Canadian cold front
it could be a snowy Nor'easter, strong winds, rain, flooding and/or snow mixed in. ugh!

keep an eye on Hurricane Sandy ← at this link
and rain predictions ← 6 - 8" for our area!
fingers crossed we do not lose our electric for days at a time like the Derecho storm this past summer
