Ever since Adam bought his BMW last year, we've been talking about taking some photos of it. Well, we finally went out and took some shots. I asked Michael Hunter if he'd be interested in editing one of the shots for his PP Friday - his take turned out pretty awesome!

For my shot, I removed the lamp post and buildings and added some nicer green grass. I did a bunch of other edits and this is what I ended up with - I hope Adam likes it ;)

Side note - I just found out that BMW dropped the tagline "Ultimate Driving Machine" back in 2006 - who knew?

On my way home from work, I stopped by to take some pictures below Nimbus Dam. To the left, there are some cool green hills with oak trees on them. Perhaps those will make it into my 365 on another day.

The clouds were really neat, so I thought I'd try this in HDR. I wish it wasn't windy and the water would have reflected the dam, oh well ;)

This is the first photo I've posted using the 18-105mm lens that came with the D90. I was looking for examples of Architecture photography and found a similar photo, so I thought I'd try it out.

I didn't do much processing, other than to convert it to B&W and then adjust the levels some.

Taken for Assignment52 Week 2 - Architecture.

Reach for the Sky

We had a get together today at the Marin Cheese Factory for a birthday party for Max and Shannon's mother, Gail (Happy Birthday!).

While we were there, I asked Max to take some shots of me throwing Caden up in the air. After about 50 repetitions, I was exhausted, but Caden had a blast and was begging for more.

I love that he is still light enough for me to really get him up there...at least without throwing out my back ;) It won't be long before he and Cooper will be too big for this, so I'll enjoy these moments while I can.

Looking at this picture, it reminds me of what it felt like to be carefree and so trusting. Oh to be 3 again ;)

Our bush daisies flower through-out the year, providing some nice color in our front yard.

We did some yard work this weekend in 70 degree weather and couldn't pass up this shot against the clear blue sky.

My Mom arrived today for a visit to meet Luke and spend Easter with our family. I took the boys to pick her up at the airport and later in the day we went on a bike ride and stopped by a local school and played on the playground.

The boys both attempted to climb this baseball field backstop. It was interesting to watch them scurry up a 4-5 feet and then stop as they realized how high up they were getting. Climbing up is always the easy part...getting down...not quite as easy ;)

Up, Up and Away!

On Saturday I took the boys to Pebble Creek Park. Behind the park is a creek and a path which provides a wonderful tree-covered escape from all of the homes and retail buildings.

After our hike, the boys wanted me to push them on the swings. Ed's (isayx3) Flying Without Wings pictured popped in my head, so I took out my new 35mm and started shooting. There was another family there and I imagine all of my picture taking provided some good entertainment for them ;)

Went out for a walk along the creek with the boys and all of the cattails were falling apart (is that called something specific?).

I really like the abstract look - it almost looks like a painting.
