I did some work out in the yard while the boys played. We haven't seen the sun much, so it was nice to get out for a bit.

After my chores, I convinced them to let me take some photos. Surprisingly, they somewhat cooperated. I like the rim light effect from the sun.

I went to lunch with Adam to Sensei Sushi in Rancho Cordova. This was the bowl the miso soup came in. What is it about that stuff that is so good?

I haven't been able to post a photo everyday or visit people's photostreams. I'm trying to remember all of the reasons I started this 365 because there are so many things that are falling behind because of it.

I think I'm going to continue to take a photo each day...I just don't know how often I'll be able to post.

I figured Luke needed some "air" time, so I put down a plastic bag with a towel over it and let him hang out for a while.

He is such a mellow baby, he hardly cries at all. He does grunt a lot though...so much so that we've decided to nickname him Grunt.

In what might be a first for my 365, this shot is SOOC. Well, I added the border, but I did not make any other adjustments.

I decided to start a 52 Weeks of Luke project and this marks his first week. There were quite a few pictures that I really liked, but this one was just too funny to not share.

He had his 1 week appointment today and has already gained back his birth-weight plus 5 oz.!

He looks like such an angel when he's sleeping. So far, he's been a great baby...he's sleeping better at night at almost a week old than Caden did at 15 months! Let's hope it continues!

In a rare moment, the boys actually "posed" for me. They weren't too interested until I asked them to show me their "silly face". I wish the juice cups weren't in the photo, but their expressions make up for the distraction ;)

Being only 16 months apart, they really are good buddies. They, of course, have their moments, but for the most part they play really well together. We are all eager to find out the gender of baby #3 ... only 5-6 more weeks!

Cooper has been playing with the Rubik's Cube since I brought it out yesterday. He loves solving puzzles and figuring things out. He was watching a video with me about the Rubik's Cube and when the person said you could take it apart, he wanted to try it. Ha-ha.

He was in the middle of trying to figure it out when I asked him to look up. The result: his concentration / annoyed look ;)

I decided early on in my 365 that I wanted all of my photos to be square. I could do a square crop, but so far I've liked the way the black bars look. This is the first portrait that I've posted with the bars on the sides. So, if you are wondering why they are there, that is one of the reasons.

I'm posting earlier today so I can enjoy a date night with the wife! Hope you are having a good weekend...

This is Adam...he is my co-worker and lunch buddy ;) I figure if I'm doing a 365, I should include all aspects of my life, including people I work with. Adam lives the bachelor life and when he isn't at work, he's usually jet-setting to L.A. to hang out with his friends there.

I took this while we were at Thai Mango for lunch. We are VIP's there. Jealous? I thought so. Anyway, I was showing him my new camera and snapped this picture. I thought the background was really cool and I convinced him to let me post this...I think.

- Opened in Lightroom, edited, saved
- Opened in Photoshop, edited, letter-boxed, saved

I just play around until I find something I like :D

The Doctor Will See You Now

This is Caden. If you follow my 365, I'm sure you'll get to see a lot more of him as well as the rest of my family.

He was playing Doctor (these glasses are part of the kit) and I grabbed him and had him stand near our back door. Using the natural light and my 50mm lens wide open, I was able to capture him in full Doctor mode ;)

Processing: I opened the NEF file in PS CS3 and manually adjusted all of the settings (no presets). Once that was done, I brightened up his eyes and added the letter-boxing.

Typically I don't shoot in RAW...I find it to be a royal pain. I had my D40 tuned to get pretty nice images SOOC, but now with the D90, I've decided to start shooting in RAW + JPEG Normal, which you can't do in the D40. Once I've imported the images, I'll delete the NEF files for images I don't use, which will save a lot of disk space.
