This panel is part of a series of panels I created for the "Shinobi Marilyn" show at Emily Amy Gallery. In this series of panel, the eyes were removed from all of the Marilyns and replaced with hand-pixellated versions of the logos for Kool cigarettes and Look magazine. Meaning is manipulated by altering the placement and patterns of faces and logos.

Elephant Woman #2 was made by taking a lateral slice from each of the 9 Shinobi Marilyns and assembling them into one face. The result in this piece is reminiscent of John Merrick, the "Elephant Man", as well as Francis Bacon's portraits.

For this image I took each of the 9 likenesses of Marilyn from Shinobi, gave them an 11% opacity, and transferred them one at a time onto the panel. The result is an average of all 9 Marilyns.

This piece is partly inspired by Do Ho Suh's artwork High School Uni-Face: Boy".

Took me long enough to finally document this :) The companion piece to "Ghost (Moony)" and "Ghost (Marky)".

After I did this I finally started drawing on plastic sheets. Totally transitional piece, this.

One of 5 drawings on plastic I created for my solo show "Shinobi Marilyn" at Emily Amy Gallery in Atlanta, GA. The facial areas are 100% ink and the rest of the surface is built from multiple passes of an 80/20 ink/water mixture.

Bottom image is a copy of the original modified for visibility. This drawing was created by hand scoring a sheet of duralar. The scratches interfere with light passing through the duralar, creating shadows on the wall.

Digital Camera (gel xfer)

A transfer made by taking this painting, shrinking it down to the original graphic's dimensions and blowing it back up. I let the computer take what looked like a fairly even application of acrylic wash and tease out its various inconsistencies by crushing together and interpolating all the color shifts caused by my hand.
