Takes a little effort to get out, but after removing 6 circuit board screws, the board lifts up just enough to pull out the the len assembly. Two ribbon cables connect the lens assembly to the board.

A little metal clip and a small amount of glue hold the lens to the rest of the assembly. As you can see, the Spot #1 is on the underside of the lens. It doesn't wipe off, and looks like it's etched in the glass.

This was the first thing I took off the lens, but I didn't need to do this. The window has no plastic or glass in it, it's just a frame.

Looking down into the assembly, you can see Spot #2 on this piece of glass. My guess is that the two pieces of glass are rubbing together.
