Pastor Nakano (lower right) of the Morioka Seisen church comes to Tono twice a month with his lovely daughter Yoshiko (upper left) to minister to the needs of Tono citizens. The group meets in the same room I use on Fridays at Topia in downtown Tono but an hour before my class. I've been joining their services for a couple of months now.

The wind is blowing a gale outside so I'm stuck indoors looking for something to shoot. I drag out my wife's mirror and get the cats playing on it! They seem to think the mirror is a hole or ice or something and don't want to get on it. Oreo played with her Christmas 'mouse' and got out over the surface a bit.

Then when I was looking at the pictures on the computer screen and working on them in Photoshop she started batting at them!

Before America was a country this stone was carved and placed here. If I'm reading the inscription properly this person died in the Horeki (宝暦) period which lasted from 1751 to 1763. The person also died in February, the coldest month! I'll have to go dig around the bottom to see if I can get the exact date.

update: I checked and discovered that it's from 1751, the foundation year of Horeki.

I'm not sure how the name is pronounced but it means something like 'dream create warehouse'!
