I rescued this little guy & took him to the vet back in July 2008...a Feather Tailed Glider. It's the smallest of all gliders with a head and body length of just 6.5 - 8cm. The tail is used to steer and brake as they glide up to 20 meters through the trees. They are the only known Mammal to have a feather like tail. The weight of an adult is 10-15 grams, so this tiny Glider is often missed when in trouble, or mistaken for a mouse.

I got a new toy yesterday...a Canon EOS 400D! This is my first shot from it.
Ongoing will be posting from both the old camera & the new as have an archive of shots from the old camera in waiting, but will also be playing with the new :-)

It's my birthday today so I wanted to post something a little different. I was up at the tourist strip on the mountain and noticed this old 3 piece bi-fold type screen for sale, it grabbed my attention immediately and this is a snippet of the centre piece of the screen. I was thinking about trying to take the marks out, but actually decided that I like the worn look, like it kind of suits the era.
