Unfortunately, this means it gets really busy at this time of year, so photographers have to wait until everyone is lined up behind trees and then get a quick picture while they can!

Bank Holiday Weekend

What are you gonna do on a bank holiday weekend if not painting?

We've finally got around to painting our landing and stairs, making them white instead of magnolia. It'll be so nice to stop the place looking like a new build clone, as apparently they're legally obliged to paint every new home in Britain in magnolia.

Reaching across above the stairs is a bit of a pain, but we bought a pole for it. The thing screws onto the rollers we have, but you can't get into the corners, so we had to rig a brush up on the end there.

I guess it's good cast away practice. I won't want for fish if I find myself alone on a desert island with just a pole and loads of masking tape. Maybe a knife would work better than a brush in those circumstances, but you don't get to pick and choose, ok?

Baked by my wife who's really raised the game this year. I'm already feeling the pressure when it comes to her birthday. :)

Similar to yesterday's, but I ditched the orange and made the chocolate more intense. I also only added the choc to the mix after partially filling the cups with the plain sponge, creating the two tone effect.

Made these today, based on Paul Hollywood's blueberry muffin recipe, but with chocolate and orange instead of blueberries.

I used a big glug of pure orange juice and a teaspoon of cocoa powder. I also used a bit more flour because it looked all wrong when I put the juice in.

Oh, and I added chocolate chips because I am an awesome baker.

Bosh!

They charge £800+ per year to use the station car park and then, when it snows they close the top deck. Well the commuters have said, "Enough is enough!" and gone up the exit ramp.

Take that, powers that be!

Here's what you have to deal with when you go sledging on Pitstone Hill.

The cows strolled up and then stopped a little way from the slope where kids kept hurtling past. There were a couple of tense minutes with them going defensive and a bit of stamping and mooing, but eventually there was a break in the speeding children and the cows made it across the piste.

Half a day of snow and everything falls apart.

When I got on a train, they couldn't close the doors because the snow had "knackered the electrics."

At least everyone seems to be in good spirits, probably due to leaving work early like me!
