Taken in Slimbridge - just managed to get some shots before the rain started. Twas a dull day indeed.
Will be catching up in the next few hours and if anyone knows why flickr is partially broken...... it really is..... what the heck are they doing - please let me know. In the meantime isnt this just the cutest....lol.

This is what happens when you have blurry eyesight. I apparently have an infection of the cornea - both eyes have been affected. Called in german - 'hornhaut entzuendung' sounds a lot posher in german. My cold came out through my eyes in other words. Today I am starting to see much better, I will be around to say hello to everyone. I have got eyedrops which should clear my infection totally in about 8 days or so. I thought a pink swan would match my pink eyes..... ha ha. Later in the week I will provide an image of how it looked. The infection was extremely painful. A big thank you to all of your support and for sending me get well emails and messages - it cheered me up no end!

Off to say hello to all. Still I suppose it's better than pink elephants!

Swan handfed Slimbridge canon 7D

Yesterday was our first day of sun in absolutely ages. We went to Slimbridge near Bristol where there is a wonderful Wetland reserve park for birds. Most of the birds roam free throughout the park and the swans that were wandering around were very tame. I will be uploading more of these amazing images in the next few days. This swan was bigger than the little boy who was feeding him, his dad eventually took over. You have to be very slow, any fast movements is guaranteed to bring out a swan hiss. I have used my favorite all rounder lens the 18 200 3.5 which is great for flexibility. There was also a hide to photograph kingfishers, but it would have been a day long stay with sandwiches and hubby wasnt up for that too.
Catching up, the migraine took 2 days, today I am at last pain free and I will be catching up with everyone soonest.
