Although, homosexuals were only one of the groups targeted for extermination, it is unfortunately, the group that history often excludes. The Pink Triangle defies anyone to deny history.

In 1935 Hitler revised the Germ...an Law, Paragraph 175, prohibiting homosexuality, by including kissing, embracing, and gay fantasies as well as sexual acts. Convicted offenders-- an estimated 25,000 from 1937 to 1939, were sent to prison and later transferred to concentration camps. They were to be sterilized, most often by castration. Hitler changed his policy on homosexuality to include death in 1942.

Concentration camp prisoners were designated into groups by colored inverted triangles. Which set up a social hierarchy among prisoners. A green triangle marked the wearer as a regular criminal.; a red triangle denoted a political prisoner. Two yellow overlapping triangles forming a Star of David denotes Jewish prisoners. The Pink Triangle was for homosexuals. A yellow Star of David under a superimposed Pink Triangle represented Gay Jewish prisoners-- by the social hierarchy, the lowest of all prisoners.

When the war was finally over, many homosexuals remained prisoners in the camps until 1969 when Paragraph 175 was repealed in West Germany.

The Pink Triangle was adopted by many Gay rights groups in the 1970s. Because, it draws attention to the oppression and persecution -- then and now.

In the 80s, ACT-UP (Aids Coalition To Unleash Power) started using a Pink Triangle that pointed up, to signify an active fight back , rather than a passive resignation to fate. Today , for many, the Pink Triangle represents Pride and Solidarity...Convicted offenders, an estimated 25,000."

The full moon is seen as it rises near the Lincoln Memorial, Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Washington. The full moon tonight is called a super perigee moon since it is at its closest to Earth in 2011. The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March 1993.

Public Schools made by Unions to Stop Child Labor

In America only the wealthy children went to school in the 1800's and early 1900's, while the less fortunate went to work in sweatshops, fields, and mines to help support their families. To fight the unsafe working conditions and lower wages received by children, which caused fewer adults to be hired, American Unions fought for the creation of public schools for all children to learn and have a decent childhood. Safety & health, and an opportunity to accomplish the American dream were born for the working man.

Unfortunately, today the rich again would like to return to this form of exploitation by dwindling away the public schools system, hurting the poor and middle classes and limiting their opportunities of a decent life. They only want two classes of people, the rich and the poor. Thus, the relentless attacks against unions for decades have continued for unions are the only real voice of the working man.

Arizona Senate Bill 1070

Arizona Senate Bill 1070 is legislation signed into law in the U.S. state of Arizona by governor Jan Brewer on April 23, 2010. It is the broadest and strictest anti-illegal immigration measure in decades and has received national and international attention and spurred controversy. The legislation's name is Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act but is best known as simply Arizona SB1070. The bill is scheduled to go into effect on July 28, 2010, ninety days after the end of the legislative session (sine die). Legal challenges over its constitutionality and compliance with civil rights law are expected.

The bill makes it a misdemeanor state crime for an alien to be in Arizona without carrying legal documents, steps up state and local law enforcement of Federal immigration laws, and cracks down on those sheltering, hiring and transporting illegal immigrants. The paragraph on intent in the legislation says it embodies an 'attrition through enforcement' doctrine.

Critics of the legislation say it encourages racial profiling based on wording and possible enforcement, while supporters say the law enforces existing federal law. The law was modified within a week of its signing with the goal of addressing some of these concerns. There have been protests in opposition to the law in many U.S. cities, including calls for boycotts of Arizona. Polling found the law has majority support in Arizona and nationwide -Wikipedia

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico. The holiday commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.

Cinco de Mayo is not "an obligatory federal holiday" in Mexico, but rather a holiday that can be observed voluntarily. While Cinco de Mayo has limited significance nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed in the United States (also voluntarily) and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day, which actually is September 16, the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.

Sombrero

In Mexico, peasant sombreros are usually made of straw, while wealthier Hispanics wear sombreros made of felt. They come in many designs with different colorings, woven patterns, and decorations. They are rarely seen in modern urban settings, except as part of folkloric outfits worn in certain festivities. The Mexican sombrero has become a national and cultural symbol, and is often used in traditional Mexican celebrations, especially by communities outside Mexico.

Personal note: I hope this polling isn't true. If so, we've become a country of hate and discrimination - I believe a direct result of a piss poor education system. Ignorance breeds hatred.

Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11. However, if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for holiday leave, and if it occurs Saturday then either Saturday or Friday may be so designated. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. In this photo collage the Kennedy brothers, John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy are joined together again with their youngest brother, Edward (Ted) M. Kennedy, who did them proud carrying on the family tradition with his life of service to the American people. No truer example of "the dream living on" exists than the path these great men have established for the citizens of the United States of America. Kennedy died of his tumor on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at his home in Hyannis Port, two weeks after the death of his sister Eunice. He is survived by his wife Victoria, his sister Jean Kennedy Smith, and his three children. In a statement, Kennedy's family thanked "everyone who gave him care and support over this last year, and everyone who stood with him for so many years in his tireless march for progress toward justice". President Barack Obama said that Kennedy's death marked the "passing of an extraordinary leader" and that he and First Lady Michelle Obama were "heartbroken" to learn of Kennedy's death, while Vice President Joe Biden said "today we lost a truly remarkable man," and that Kennedy "changed the circumstances of tens of millions of Americans". Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor and Kennedy's opponent in the 1994 senate race, called Kennedy "the kind of man you could like even if he was your adversary" and former First Lady Nancy Reagan said she was "terribly saddened." She went on: "Given our political differences, people are sometimes surprised how close Ronnie [Ronald Reagan] and I have been to the Kennedy family.... I will miss him. Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, the President pro tempore of the Senate, issued a statement on Kennedy's death in which he said "My heart and soul weeps at the loss of my best friend in the Senate, my beloved friend, Ted Kennedy". After his death, his sister Jean Kennedy Smith is the only surviving child of Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Kennedy's nine children.

Kennedy's body travelled a 70-mile (110 km) journey from the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts past numerous landmarks named after his family to the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston, Massachusetts where it laid in repose. A procession on Friday, August 28, will travel from the library to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston, where a funeral Mass will be held. (Such a Mass is permitted by the Church for politicians who act gravely contrary to Christian doctrine -- such as encouraging legislation for abortion -- if they repent of such behavior.) Former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush (his first national appearance since leaving office) will all be in attendance, and incumbent President Obama will deliver a eulogy. Kennedy will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery near the graves of his brothers. He is eligible for burial at Arlington because he was an elected U.S. government official.
