Paw Paw Bloom

Stalking Draper-Houston Meadows Preserve the last few days in search of wildflowers; I knew the preserve boasted a stand of Paw Paw trees, but never gave it much thought until the other day when I noticed a weird growth on a tree. I didn't give it another thought until later, surfing the internet for the names of flowers I'd seen, I came across a picture of the Paw Paw bloom. A-ha! Excited to try the fruit in the fall.

Our oldest off to a sleep-over, my brother-in-law agreed to watch the youngest (and buy her dinner!) while the wife and I slipped off to Ann Arbor for a couple of hours for dinner and a little shopping. Thanks Andrew!

My oldest had a friend over today and they wanted to go down to the park, I had no interest in that plan whatsoever but managed to get myself up and out the door; we went to the park, to the dam, to get them ice cream, and then for a huge walk; I had a great time. There's this awesome calm when you realize that there's absolutely nothing that you'd rather be doing.

On the way to an Ann Arbor Shutterbugs meeting this AM, I passed this scene, Ann Arbor's Christmas tree compost drop-off site; I dropped by for some shots after the meeting, and heavily processed this in The GIMP.

We had a massive flurry of snow over a short span of time this morning; I waded into it with an umbrella (useless) and, of course, my cam. A neighbor's tree, viewed from our back yard.

I've had a date planned with this tree since sometime in October, shortly after my October Fog set; late last night the fog began to roll in, and this morning was gloriously foggy.
