This is my first ever photo with a macro lens of an insect. There just wasn't enough bee action to use a tripod, so its hand held. It took me a whole hour to get this! Now I realise why the photos of these kind of things are so interesting... the F**kers keep moving!!!
I know it could be better in so many ways, but im happy with the result for a first go.

This is a mammoth sunflower making it's way towards the light. Doesn't look imposing or impressive now, but in three more months, this will be a towering 12 feet high and when harvested will yield around 100 sunflower seeds per plant. Can't wait!

The bits beneath it are the catkins which have been snowing down in my backyard from my pecan tree.

El Movimiento 15-M, también llamado movimiento de los indignados, es un movimiento ciudadano formado a raíz del 15 de mayo de 2011 con una serie de protestas pacíficas en España con la intención de promover una democracia más participativa alejada del bipartidismo PSOE-PP y del dominio de bancos y corporaciones, así como una "auténtica división de poderes" y otras medidas con la intención de mejorar el sistema democrático. Ha aglutinado a diversos colectivos ciudadanos con distintos lemas, como el de la manifestación del 15 de mayo: «No somos marionetas en manos de políticos y banqueros»1 o «Democracia real ¡YA! No somos mercancía en manos de políticos y banqueros».2

Popped down to see the animals because someone wanted some shots taking of their lambs, it was really sunny and they wouldn't stop running around so didn't really manage to get many shots.

Two British Gold Sovereigns were photographed on a piece of mirrored glass to show their reflections.

British Sovereign gold bullion coins are nickel-size gold bullion coins that were struck worldwide at the height of the British Empire.
First introduced in 1816, the British Gold Sovereign coins came to be the world’s most widely distributed gold coins, a distribution which grew along with the British Empire to be minted in Pretoria, Bombay, Ottawa, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. Hundreds of millions of Sovereigns were struck at their peak of distribution in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

A large supply of gold Sovereigns and continued hoarding and trade all over the world cause these nickel-sized gold coins to be available today at bullion pricing. These coins portray the reigning monarch (sovereign, hence the name) on one side, and Pestrucci’s St. George slaying the Dragon on the other.
