Captured tonight, the moon is around 92.6% lit with the full moon on the 25th. The second capture is a 15 second exposure which shows it between to stars.

I've been after this shot for ages, but never quite managed to get all aspects right at the same time. Complete with the moon in the top right corner, 66117 heads north past East Hyde with 6M68 Acton to Stud Farm, this time with Hanson JHA hoppers instead of the usual Cemex HOAs.

After all the changes... (that quite frankly, were done with all the professionalism of the Pawbucket Brewery admin staff using a Windows 8 laptop with a flaky wireless link)... I still can't stream anything, the menus are twitchy and/or just take you around in a loop... I feel I just can't trust Yahoo with my photos, so I've set up a 'belts and braces' account on 'ipernity'... it's the old eggs and two baskets thing...

'Ipernity' feels just like slipping into your favourite pair of clean underpants after a hot shower... so good next to your skin.... mmmmm.... :@)

PS I'm not dumping flickr... I'm paid up for a year or so yet... :@P

Tonight's moon (May 21, 2013), 88% full, waxing gibbous. Shot with my old D5000 (I wanted a DX body for this), with Sigma 50-500mm lens attached to a Sigma 2* teleconverter, giving an effective 35mm focal length of 1500mm!!!

The sky wasn't completely clear - there was a little moisture (likely to turn into a layer of high fog overnight), and the moon was still relatively low, so not ideal conditions for a clear shot...

This is pretty much straight out of the camera (just a slight crop). f/18, 1/100s, ISO 200.

Tuesday May 21, 2013. Finally a resonably clear evening, I would have preferred last evening, but the clouds were too much. So I waited till it was clear of the buildings and high enough in the sky.

Looks like zoom creap cost 50mm on the shot. Oh well maybe next time.
