This painting is on display for the weekend - Oct 2-3 -on the first floor at 1802 West Berteau Avenue (- on the Northwest corner of Berteau and Ravenswood) for Ravenswood ArtWalk as part of Chicago Artists Month.
This is a whimsical abstract painting with soft colors in pastels of green orange, yellow, and pink with strong, vertical,brown lines. It suggests to me a strange family of beings on an outing. This painting was at a juried exhibit at Cornerstone Art Center & Gallery for the Value, Volume and Variety Exhibit in Whiting, Indiana, May, 2011. Jurors were Robert Stanley and Jim Panos.

I was impressed by the diversity and quality of the art at the South Side Impressions art exhibit at Beverly Art Center, which continues until March 31st. Darrin Patton won 2nd prize for his powerful painting, Sweet Home Chicago (Red Summer).

My painting of Botany Pond, on the University of Chicago quadrangle, won 1st prize at the South Side Impressions art exhibit at Beverly Art Center. Exhibit continues until March 31, at 2407 W. 111th Street (corner of 111th street and Western Avenue), about 20 minutes from the Loop in Chicago's historic Beverly Hills/Morgan Park neighborhood.
