Before & after of a safely done newborn composite edited in CS4. basket was resting on a beanbag, and straps help up by a person and not "hung". There was an assistant standing next to baby at all times.

For week 5 of 52 I had the oppurtunity to do my first cake smash shoot with the beautiful Efa who just turned one!!
I must say ... I absolutely LOVED this shoot, was so much fun, loved using natural light again and the girly pinks, well I'm a girl, I <3 the pinkness of it all :)

Taken with my d300s, 35mm f/1.8 shot most of this shoot wide open or max f/2.5 ..

I have 2 vinyl backdrop/floor set up (which cost in the region of £140) which is the white wooden floor u see here and I have a dark damask patterned backdrop, however, without breaking the bank to get a girly backdrop, I visited a local shop and purchased a roll of pink/white flowered wallpaper and literally cellotaped it to one of my walls, placed a skirting board against it on top of the vinyl floor a here it is, a nice pink studio set up for £9!!!!! :)

I positioned 2 yards of fabric on a backdrop stand using clamps that I purchased from Home Depot. I had to place it on top of a black cloth because it was a bit see through. Sitting on top of a pink trunk Ozare 6 months old posing for a fashion shot. I purchased the medium sized trunk on sale at Hobby Lobby ( great place for props. there's always a sale for up to 70% off) for roughly $20. I clipped the hair bow onto a headband and matched the trunk and hair bow colors in lightroom. I wrapped a boa scarf around her waist for added effects. It almost looks like she has on a tutu. After about 1/2 hours of trying to get her to smile while looking at the camera, I gave up :) Of course I had her father stand in beside her to spot her in case she tilted forwards or backwards. It's always best to have someone stand within an arms reach for safety.

Just moved into a new apartment, and I've finally got my studio set up at home!

A little messy, but hey, cut me some slack ;)

This is the same setup I use for my newborns, minus the bumbo seat and add the black and white posing stool off to the side!
