Dear Sticky Mates,

This year for the third time we organize a Sticker-Exhibition called stick core running from April 4th at the nice gallery named idrawalot in Berlin. If you want to be part of it, please send us your cut, spray-painted, printed, drawn, or otherwise produced stickers in any size to hit them up for the show.

The earlier you send your stickers, the better we can plan for the exhibition and start sticking them up. The stickers will only be used for the event and some of them go to Hatch Sticker-Museum afterwards.

Please note that a small part of the stickers will be sold in packs to fix the costs of the exhibition. We won´t get rich of that, its just to fix a little fraction of our costs and makes it possible for people to get some of the amazing stuff for their home or to hit them up in the exhibition, the streets or elsewhere.

Stickers arriving during the exhibition will be added to our walls.

Urban Stylistix presents a three week international exhibition including a series of cultural activities: URBAN ART EFX. Hey people!

We are calling to every urban artist to be part in the "Silence is lie" urban art exhibition in Berlin.

"This is an exhibition about this urban art movement that rethinks and questions actual parameters of art without even intending to do so. A movement that breaks the silence imposed by the conformance of the majority, offering its truth about reality through the art.

This exhibition is open to any artist who wants to tell his or her truth.
Just as no words are needed to break silence, there is no need to be obvious when communicating something.
Thus, we do not ask especially for works with political content or focus on social issues but give every artist the opportunity to express his or her vision of the world in his own style or the way he/she likes best."

Finally, the exhibition is going to be a good reflection of how urban artists see the present and how they share that vision with the world.
The intention is to create a bridge of dialogue and communication between different views and ways of expressions, not a contest or a competition. However, we are obliged to select a limited number of exhibition participants due to space limitation. The deadline for apply is the 02/06/12

Artists can participate in 4 different ways;

_ Wheatpaste (paper,cardboard, etc)

_ Canvas,

_Installations, performance

_Stickers!!!! ( you dont need to apply for stickers, send many as you want :D)

This also, is the first step to create a new location for Urban Art in Berlin with the opportunity of a further existence. That is why we need all of you!!!

Thomas Fiebig ne cesse de revendiquer l’influence de l’art urbain sur sa peinture. Comme lui, les artistes de rues ont le mérite de dénoncer la destruction permanente que subit leur environnement sous couvert de modernisation. Il pose un regard libre qui se veut "déconstructeur", sur ce qu’exhibe la ville afin d’arracher une vérité plus profonde aux évidences trompeuses, aux images parfois indécentes de non sens qui la peuplent. L’ordre voulu par la société n’est qu’une architecture des apparences. Il impose sa logique marchande aux désirs profonds de l’homme.

Dans sa quête du vrai, Thomas Fiebig use d’un langage d’une douloureuse ironie qui masque mal un certain désespoir.

Ainsi, cible-t-il le hamburger, prêt-à-manger, fabriqué en masse, emblématique du vite absorbée, vite rassasié. Cette nourriture ambulante, saturée de produits standardisés pour fondre en bouche malgré leur empilement pyramidal, industrialise le gavage d’estomac.

La série de hamburgers que propose l’artiste dénonce à sa manière cette culture de l’élevage du citoyen en batterie. Le pop art revendiquait les objets de notre quotidien comme données irréversibles de notre culture post-industrielle mais les restituait fidèlement (voir les soupes Campbell ou les billets d’un dollar). Thomas Fiebig, lui, dynamite la représentation de ces sandwiches vertigineux, moelleux mais sans substance, en étale la matière, en fait, au choix, des champignons suspects ou des verticalités informes, des compressions d’ingrédients indistincts, prêts à la mastication sommaire et à la digestion hâtive. La couleur éclate, coule, déborde, brouille la consistance de la pitance proposée au point qu’on voit mal à quel stade d’assimilation elle se situe.

Thomas Fiebig veut dramatiser l’enjeu de son propos. Aussi broie-t-il les formes avec un appétit qu’on n’ose qualifier de carnassier. Ses excentriques hamburgers dénoncent une civilisation où, l’individu, intégré à une chaîne alimentaire infernale, est à la fois consommateur et digéré. Le goût ainsi uniformisé soulève le dégoût de l’artiste qui l’éloigne d’une représentation vériste du hamburger pour en dévoiler l’essence profonde.

Thomas Fiebig prépare méticuleusement son travail sur ordinateur avant de le reproduire de manière originale sur la toile. Il ne cherche nullement à recopier son schéma numérique mais à lui donner une traduction libre travaillée par la matérialité brute de la peinture et soumise aux aléas de l’inspiration. Il déconstruit, donc recrée, ce qu’il voit et le décline en autant d’œuvres singulières, ribambelle infernale qui domestique nos appétits.

C’est cette série qu’ADDICT Galerie sera heureuse de vous présenter à l’occasion de la première exposition personnelle de Thomas Fiebig à Paris.
