Paper and plastic grocery bags are wasteful and a darn litter bother for Seattle. We are united in our dedication to see our city as a leader in the global trend to make them history, switch to reusable bags and create a more livable and healthy future for us all.

And to do this, we need YOU. In August, 2009, citizens of Seattle will vote on whether to keep our first-in-the-country law encouraging reusable bags. The plastics industry (read Exxon, Dow &amp;amp; Co.) is going to spend loads of money to overturn Seattle's decision, and, if they win, almost a million bags a day will go to the landfill and oceans so they can keep their profits.

That's why we need people power to fight back. Join us. Green bags for a green city!</description>
