Personal projects really are a great way to get motivated!

I'm currently working with 3-4 different lenses and the differences in images I get with what they can do. I often use the same techniques in Street Photography that I've learned in shooting wildlife and vice versa.

well, I just started a 365 project with the emphasis on place, so kind of like a photo-journal of my daily travels. I am mainly doing this to force me to havemy camera at all times, since I have become lazy and have taken very few shots in the last months

Living in the city after living on the outskirts of a suburbia is always an interesting challenge for me as an environmental photographer. Skylines there are plenty of here, Mother Nature is a little more difficult to pick out!

How do you motivate yourself to bring your camera...?

every time you step out your door is an opportunity. Being motivated to take your camera w/ you is another thing.

Even in large urban areas where it seems like nature is hours away, there are pockets of nature (parks, river trails) and there are always birds close at hand.

This group is about nature photos gotten "out and about" or right in your back yard. Environmental photography, especially close-to-home, may be easier for some but more difficult for others. Does anyone have any interesting takes on Neighborhood Ecologist(s') photo opportunities...?
