Ben Lomond Landscapes

This group is all about Ben Lomond which is a mountain in Scotland east of Loch Lomond
Ben Lomond (Scottish Gaelic: Beinn Laomainn, 'Beacon Peak'), 974 metres (3,196 ft), is a mountain in the Scottish Highlands and is the most southerly of the Munros. The Ben is owned by the National Trust for Scotland.
Please feel free to add you photographs of the Ben here.

Ben Lomond is a solitary and distinctive peak to the East of Loch Lomond. From the Arrochar Alps, to the NW, Ben Lomond appears to have a conical summit but there is a craggy corrie high on its North slopes. North slopes are steep and craggy but South slopes are easy to moderate. The normal access routes lead from the South and do not encounter the crags until near the summit. Ben Lomond has two parallel SSE ridges, to the West is the Ptarmigan Ridge and to the E the Sron Aonaich ridge. The "tourist" path cuts a broad swathe from Sron Aonaich to the summit. The ascent path by the burn that casacdes between Tom Fitich and Tom Eas at the South end of the Ptarmigan ridge is steeper and much more attractive. Following the Ptarmigan ridge leads to the West face of Ben Lomond from where a minor scramble through rocky outcrops leads to the summit.

Actualy I believe it is in Central scotland. Howver Woodbank may be correct as it is north of the Highland Fault line

Yeah thanks. However isn't the mountain in Argyll? I think your description is taken from wikipedia...which may not be correct. I pass it every month or so on my way to my girlfriends. Might be wrong though!

Thanks for the invite Stu. Didn't realise I had so few shots of "the ben" until this invite came in. I'll need to spin the camera around the other direction from the loch more!
