I do have a couple of leica M lenses (latest 50 summicron, older 90mm elmar) and they do have a character to them that is unique and I can tell from my shots. I can say this of the Pentak tak 50 1.4 (M42) and the Nikon 50 1.4 9(pre-ai) other lenses I cannot easily distinguish a specific character.

I would submit flickr is not really optimal for viewing photos. It is what we have but my images look so much better on my computer than after flickr gets em'

The AX was an SLR so it might not be a good fit but why not just rip the guts out of a decent digital camera, (say a Canon 5D) and hack them into an AX chasis? You would then have the 100% lens compatibility we are seeking and they would all autofocus as well.....

I have three Leica M lenses and I posted a few shots here ..... I like to use them but I would be curious to see how many people can recognize the quality of an image shot with a true Leica lens from a Panasonic pancake 20mm lens or a Nikon ......

Perhaps this could be an interesting challenge in this forum?

I use Leica M lenses as well. I have 2 sets with photos taken with Leica lenses with my Panasonic G1. They are not very good as I'm just starting out and am trying to get used to the lenses (real Leica lenses are so much heavier!). I was lucky enough to find an M mount for the G1 for $30!! Best find ever!!

H.Hackbarth posted a reply:

I think THE KING OF THE NIGHT Lens (the Leica Noctilux 50/1.0 or the newer 50/0.95) is a real "must have" for MicroFourThirds. Here it becomes THE perfect portrait lens and allows you to shoot under available light conditions in a magic that currently no other lens can provide.

In order to see what I mean, look here: www.flickr.com/photos/8538812@N06/sets/72157626044903923/

I am aware that many people can not afford it or are not willing to, but if you already think about it, I can tell you that on mFT already the older 1.0 Noctilux is a good choice. Problems like vignetting or blurry edges which people complained about when using this lens on a full frame M9 and which were optimized on the newer model (the 0.95 Noctilux) do not play a role when using on the mFT crop sensor.
