Phuket has some good dive sites but some are further away than most boats can visit in a day trip. This has been a problem for many divers - however last week we ran a hi speed Cat to Koh Ha and Hin Deng

Visit www.phuketdivetours for more info..

The Somosomo Strait off Taveuni is so fantastic (the Great White Wall is amazing) that you forget beaches. Stay at Nakia Resort - small and dive focussed

Phillipines is a huge place :-). I like Cebu and Bohol as it is easy to reach from Manila with flights and the diving on Bohol is spectacular. There are 4 dive resorts on Bohol directly. If you are lazy stay at the Cebu Hilton... for diving go out of the hotel next door to the small dive operators there - excellent services and great crews and affordable pricing.

if you want the opposite style go to Boracay - lots of options there and way more night life.

Where to go?

Tom Judkowiak posted a new topic:

Hi everyone.
I'm looking for some advice on destinations around Asia and West Pacific that are great for soft corals. I know Taveuni in Fiji is known as the world capital of soft coral, but my wife started complaining that there's no sandy beach and I have to consider her as well. She's diving as well, but she's got enough after couple of dives, so I need to consider her as well.
What would you then recommend? Oh, I have only two weeks of holidays, so even though I'd love to go to places like Raja Ampat, that bit too difficult to get to, and liveaboards are not considered as well (you know.. women...)
I know it's a tough one, and so I'm hoping to find some good advice here - amongst underwater photographers.
Thanks heaps in advance.

Tom
