Update:

I noticed today that my Dopiaza.org set has reviewed from start of photostream to up to date items.

Now includes some of my interesting more up to date shots.

Many thanks.

Is there a limit to the number of photos reviewed when the Dopiaza Org Set is determined.
My set gets updated regularly but now stops at 25th December 2012 each time.
Is this because my photostream at just over 4000 is too large?

Thanks for providing this service because it is determined by your computer and not me.
As such it heads my sets because of the "Interestingness".

Thank you much for your ( sad..) answer.
Writing of sw would be possible, but don't understand on what level it should work ( when requested general email/attachment upload, therefore not special app upload ) . Can you advice?
Thanks !

No, sorry, the set manager could do what you need, but not in the time-frame you need. There are very many sets to process and it takes well over a day to get through them all.

Having said that, it would be perfectly possible to write your own software that would do what you need - the Flickr API provides the functionality to do that. It sounds like that is what you really need to do. You can find the documentation for the Flickr API here, and if you have questions about the Flickr API, then the Flickr API group is the place to ask.

Hi,

we have developed quite unique large wooden photoframe which is able to take photos directly from flickr account, or exactly - from sets. We would like to allow people simple upload via email attachment, however currently ( as far we know ), there is no flickr tag, that can join uploaded photo directly to specified set.
Your manager could be very good solution , but we would need to join to set within minutes. Is there any how to do it ?

Many thanks.

dopiaza posted a reply:

Sure, you can work it out by sheer brute force, but that's not really practical here.

If a user has (say) 2000 photos in their stream (many users have very many more than that), then I would need to make over 2000 API calls to figure out which ones to include in a 'most-favourited' set. Given that Flickr doesn't like you going over one API call per second, that then would be over half an hour just to update a single set. Now when you consider that the set manager is currently updating somewhere in the region of 50,000 photosets, it's clearly not a realistic approach.

The only way this could likely be made to work would be for Flickr to update flickr.photos.search to allow sorting by favourites/views/comments, as appropriate.

Hi,

first of all, I use dopiaza's manager for an 25 most interesting pics album. Is it also possible to implement a function that sorts via favorites or how many times a picture has been viewed? I ask because I got 25+, 50+ faves albums and 500+, 1000+ views albums. Would be great if there was a manager that'd put pictures that were faved more than 50 times automatically into my 50+ album. Or does anyone know another manager that does this. Thanks!
