Hello... I'm Ed, short for Edwin. I'm from the Philippines but working/living in Singapore for about 5yrs this coming June.

I've just started making photography as a hobby. I started with some fuji film cameras way back and then used a number of compact digicams ranging from nikon to fuji and then lastly to panasonic. I've tried to make a good composition using compacts but found it difficult getting my desired outputs and effects.

Then a colleague of mine, who is also an amateur (3-4yrs now and using a Nikon D80), started to brainwash me into getting a dslr. Frankly, I found it costly and quite expensive to maintain as a hobby. However, he said that I'll get the satisfaction of capturing a really good picture the way I've always wanted it. He warned me ,though, that if I do go ahead with it, I should be prepared forking out the dough.

This Dec.06, Olympus had a promotion here and I found the price quite attractive. Its not the number one brand, true, but I think its not only the camera but also the skill of the photographer.

So with this in mind, I can't wait to develop my photography skills and hopefully I'll be able to do that thru Flickr.

I'll get the ball rolling...

I'm Michael. My occupation is registered nurse, but photography is my way of relaxing and a release from my stressful job. Photography is one of my hobbies and one which I have been into seriously for the past 2 years or so. I hope to go to college this year and gain some more knowledge in the technical aspects of photography.

I shoot with a Fujifilm Finepix S3000 and more recently with my DSLR, Canon EOS 400D. I am a relative beginner and I am still everyday, working out how to use the many features on my DSLR camera. I bought the DSLR as I felt that my previous 'point and shoots' were too limiting, particularly when it came to low light and night photography.

I prefer to shoot digital over film.

I tend to photograph landscapes and old buildings/churches as my camera accompanies me most places that I go, but my favorite subject tends to be my son, who must think that his daddy lives permanently behind the lens. I have more recently started to play around with monochrome images and sepia.

I live in Lancashire in the UK.
