Strictly Wildflowers

This is a group for posting beauty which is 'off of the beaten path', found in surprising corners. Flowering weeds and other less popular or unique plants. No roses, daisies, tulips, or other flowers commonly purchased should be uploaded here. This is a spot for surprisingly interesting or beautiful flowers found in the wild only.

I'd prefer to stick to non-purchased "found flowers" and blooming weeds. But weeds of interest, rather than common 'junk' weeds... I know this may seem kind of strict, but the idea is discovery of more or less off of the beaten path serendipity, rather than ordinary flowers or leaves.

What if it is a native wildflower that you bought? Or wildflowers you purposely let grow in your yard?

Ok, 3 positive comments on this is enough for me... I will make it so -- feel free to post berrylicious shots. Although with the qualification that they are only wild berries...

Yes Yes I agree with the berry/friut addition! That would be wonderful. It would be fun to list the areas the species is native to as well.
Thanks for starting this group and for the invite!

Oh yes - and the Ampelopsis brevipedunculata. ;-) But I don't think it should extend to leaves - that seems too remotely related, and will flood the pool with fall color. I'm sure there must be pools specifically for that already.

Thanks for the invite!

I think it would be a nice addition. I come accross a lot of wild berries from time to time. I know the yellow/orange berries are out in full force now.

I am wondering if I should open the rules up to include things such as wild berries, and other types of 'color' or interest found in the wild, rather than just flowers. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
