Is it really "mindless hated" to simply satirize someone as a vampire (in the Halloween season), who proudly refers to herself as a pit bull with lipstick, and began operating as such for the McCain campaign from day one on the trail: mocking anyone who doesn't think like her, belittling community organizers, baldly lying about Obama "palling around with terrorists," and making the ludicrous claim that he is a socialist and a terrorist? I think not. I think she's fair game - and her portrayal here is entirely apropos of the reputation she's created for herself.

Also, consider also how she encouraged the hunting of helpless animal from helicopters, purely for sport. Consider how eager she seems to be to broaden the war by aggravating Iran and by mocking the sort of diplomatic efforts, people actually familiar with international relations insist are appropriate. Yes, I'd say the blood-thirsty metaphor is appropriate.

You can disagree without hating. Whether or not you agree with Gov. Palin on every issue or any issue, she deserves our admiration and thanks for answering the call to serve her country.

And come January 20th she is going to be outstanding as our first female vice president.
