Photo exhibit opportunity in Romania-please submit your photos

Ever Eve posted a new topic:

Dear photographers I am interested in international photographers from each country of the world who are willing to exhibit one of their photo, with the theme Urban Stereotype, which should represent a stereotype from their city, for a Romanian based Exhibit in Cluj-Napoca. If u are interested please send me a private message or just write an email to expoclujproject@gmail.com and i will give u the details. Also please share the news, i need 200 photographers for this project. This is our website www.18plusfestival.ro (the english version will be ready this week also. Thanks

Please also see here some of the details:
Urban Stereotypes - a complex initiative, that is to gather visual perspectives on urban stereotypes from all over the world. The exhibition will contain a photograph that reflects this theme from a city in each country of the globe. Aside the extraordinary dimention of the exhibition, bringing forth approximatively 200 visions on urban stereotypes and joining just as many international artists, the project also offers an interesting note on the theme approached, succeeding to somehow define the urban both from the perspective of repetition and at the same time from that of diversity and plurality. That what represents a stereotype in an African city placed next to that what represents a stereotype in a Danish city - a contrast that is surely worth seeing.

Conditions for participation:

Technical aspects:
-the picture should not be larger than 5MB
-the picture should not have frame and watermark
-the picture should be sent in JPEG format, along with name of photographer, age, name of the picture,
place that the picture was taken and place of origin of the photographer.
-the picture should represent the theme mentioned above. For the Urban Stereotypes Theme the picture should represent and show a streotype from your city, could be a turistic atraction known all over the world, or could
be a theme or subject that you as a photographer feel that is most repetitive or representative of that certain
city and can be considered as stereotype for the city.
-you should not send more then 3 of your best pictures for a certain city that you consider that best represents
our theme. You can send pictures from different cities in the world.

2012 Photoshare Photo Contest *Top prize of $1,000 USD. Deadline: December 17, 2012.

Announcing the 8th Annual 2012 Photoshare Photo Contest - a popular international event mobilizing amateur and professional photographers to share their photos for charitable and educational use.

www.photoshare.org/2012-photoshare-photo-contest

Photoshare is an editorial photography collection available upon request and strictly for nonprofit educational use.

Photoshare's 2012 Photo Contest features the HIFA2015 Photography Award, spotlighting the critical role of Healthcare Providers. The contest leverages HIFA2015 as a key partner to further expand Photoshare's reach and impact among health professionals working to improve the availability and use of healthcare information in developing countries.

**Contest Mission**

Photoshare encourages those who are interested in Photoshare’s mission to participate in the contest. The contest is a great incentive for those who would otherwise share photos year-round but have trouble finding the time. If you are learning about Photoshare for the first time, you may be interested to know…

People who typically share photos with Photoshare – either through the contest or on an ongoing basis – are international public health professionals, community leaders and residents of developing countries, Peace Corps volunteers, world travelers, amateur and professional photographers, and anyone else interested in freely sharing photos as a way to promote awareness of global health and development issues.

Contest participants understand that when the contest is over, their entries are eligible for inclusion in the general Photoshare collection, upon which their photos may be requested for nonprofit, educational use promoting health and development. As always, requests to use Photoshare images are carefully screened by Photoshare staff (see Photoshare Terms of Use and Responsibilities of Photoshare Users for more information about Photoshare's policies on sharing photos). Photoshare provide a unique opportunity to monitor the use and impact of shared images.

Participation in the contest does NOT require you to forfeit your copyright.

Participating in the contest is a fun and rewarding way to support Photoshare’s global efforts in health and development photography, and to help build the Photoshare collection.

fotoabroad posted a new topic:

Hello!
My name is Shidume and I recruit photographers around the world for Airbnb. More specifically in: Spain, Portugal, Latin America and Africa.
We are currently looking for photographers in:
Cairo, Egypt
Alexandria, Egypt
Kampala, Uganda
Nairobi, Kenya
Lagos, Nigeria

and others

Airbnb is the world’s leading and most trusted community marketplace to list, discover, and book unique spaces from real people anywhere in the world. As of the time I wrote this email, we’re in 14,467 cities in 183 countries.
•This is our website: www.airbnb.com

•This is a video that explains how Airbnb works: www.airbnb.com/info/how_it_works

•These are some of our most interesting listings: www.airbnb.com/collections/top40

•This is what people and the press are saying about us: www.airbnb.com/home/press

The job:

As part of our service, Airbnb offers professional photography for the homes listed on our site. We have a network of photographers around the world who take 15-25 high-quality photos from different perspectives of each of our properties. The photo deck must allow travelers to have the best possible idea of how the property looks like.
Once you’re registered as part of our network, we’ll forward to you around 2-5 shoot requests per week (depending on the demand of the area) for properties located within 30km radius of your location. It usually takes our photographers about 30-45 minutes to shoot a listing and this is an ongoing project, as we continue to accumulate more listings. You’ll be able to negotiate directly with our hosts a day/time that works best for you both and you’ll always have the option to refuse a specific job (if you’re busy with something else or in vacations for example).
For reference as to the kind of photography we're looking for, check out some of the work of our international photography team:

•France: www.airbnb.com/rooms/26562

•England: www.airbnb.com/rooms/45168

Next steps if you’re interested:

Send an email in ENGLISH to shidume@airbnb.com with the following information
•Your city, country
•Type of camera you work with, and number of megapixels (we need images made with a 12.1 MP DSLR or higher)
•Link to your portfolio (preferably of real estate or architectural photography)

Hey all, I'm a finalist in the Cape Town Tourism Winter Theme Competition and I'd really appreciate some help in getting my votes up. All you need to do is click on the "like" button and that's it. Know that if I win you will really be giving my photography career a boost as I want to get an IMac with the winnings.

So please give me your time and your vote as I would be soooo greatful for it.

Thank you kindly,
Warren
