if i,i will choose EF 24-105.because don't Replacement lens,Aperture small?--no .if take one or two flash and Wireless transceiver device.it very Convenient and practical.to me. travel more convenient shortcut

I thought I'd drop in on my original thread.

I traded that 28/2.8 for a 28/1.8. The extra speed was a welcome addition (I do lots of shooting on narrow streets in the shade), but also it's just a bit larger and seems to balance better than the 2.8 (then again, it just looks better on the mkII body).

Hope all is well with fellow mkII shooters out there.

This isn't a very talkative bunch! ;)

Video focus

I have just start using the video with this camera and have a question.
Is there no autofocus during video capture?
These old eyes have a difficult time focusing using the screen unless I zoom in then I am stuck with that focus plane.

I'm a noob too but what this camera produces just has a "look" to it that's instantly identifiable...it's a sort of glow or something.

Just wanted to say hello and share my enthusiasm for the 5D2. I'm blown away by the files coming out of this machine.

Today is my first day owning the camera. I bought the EF 28/2.8 and 85/1.8 lenses too.

My dirty little secret...I traded my D700 and entire Nikon kit for it this afternoon. So, all my opinions will be distilled through the experience of a Nikon shooter.

Firmware 2.0.9 for 5D Mark II
Firmware Version 2.0.9 incorporates the following improvements and fixes.

1. Improves writing/reading speeds when using UDMA 7-compatible CF cards.

2. Fixes a phenomenon where the IS function will not work when custom function C.Fn III-2 is set to [5: IS start] and the lens attached does not have an AF stop button. This is because custom function C.Fn III-2 allows users to assign IS start to the AF stop button on the lens

3. Corrects misspellings in the menu screens displayed in Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and Thai languages.
