music groups and drama club. Monsieur Gaucher playing Barbra Streisand in the language lab. I loved my best friend, Liz, who is still my best friend, and I really, really loved Steve and then Andy. I loved my Villager skirt and sweater sets and my Bass Weejuns (with pennies) and I even loved the tenderloins in the lunch room. When my daughters attended the same high school my past experiences there seemed a bit parochial and pretty mundane (except, of course, for Steve and Andy - the memories of whom will always remain glorious).

I'm still trying to forget high school - and now this!

My husband is spending this entire weekend at his 45th high school reunion. He loved high school. I didn't go because, after all these years, I'm still trying to forget much of what happened in high school. I'm a much more contented and confident person at sixty than I was at sixteen. Well, maybe. . .hmm. . .I think I still have a ways to go.
