I always set my pattern as my desktop background before submitting. I think its the best way to see if it tiles right.

One of the things I love about patterns I learned from screen printing, and that's the immediacy of making a pattern.

Starting with a basic idea, then letting new ideas evolve brings instant results. You're not always going to be pleased with where a direction leads to, but more often than not I have something that can be built on.

I can't always say that for illustrations that I do. I have so many unfinished drawings stored on my computer, but I have hundreds of patterns that I'm more or less happy with.
