dlgdyer posted a new topic:

Greetings all! I'm the proprietor of Coffee Mug Heaven, a web site that just turned 9 years old and is simply a place where I have collected and display unique coffee mugs. Its not a store or any sort of web scam, just a place to see unique coffee mugs. My personal collection numbers around 300 these days and not all of them are even posted yet to the site. Some are mugs I've found on the web that I think are interesting and I post the link for others to see or buy - I don't make any money off the links, just sharing what I've found.

Do check it out, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I would just like to start off by saying that I am so glad to have found this group. I love to enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings while reading positive literature. I feel a sense of calm in the morning when I can begin my day on a positive note, preparing myself for the challenges of the day ahead.

After trying several brews, blends and brands I've come back around to the coffee my daughter in-law got me hooked on: French Vanilla flavored coffee beans that I grind myself with an electric grinder given to me by our son. Brand-wise I'm using 8 o'clock right now.

Oh! Yeah, I take it with some artificial sweetener because my stomach has trouble digesting sugar in drinks.

blipfish posted a reply:

My wife jokes that my morning coffee is a bit of a science experiment.

Home drip:

Lately, I've been grooving on whole-bean, Starbucks "Sumatra" coffee. So, my adjusted "specifications" for this are: three creamer, two sugar, and 1/5 cup of 2%. I use the same coffee mug most of the time so I've gotten to the point where I measure levels as I fill it. ha ha.

I know, I know, I sound like one of those pretentious coffee drinkers
blipfish.impax-media.com/index.php/archive/i-swear-im-goi...

...but I don't always have dairy creamer on hand. Really we're just talking cream and sugar. Sumatra doesn't need the extra sugar to put it over the edge like many dark roasts do.

Okay. I'll admit that Hershey Dark Chocolate makes an appearance from time to time.

I think my ritual is as important as the coffee, for some reason? It starts my day out "normally" as it were.

Usually with just some sugar or splenda (The only fake sugar I can handle.) Sometimes I like it with milk or half and half. My guilty pleasure is Coffeemate French Vanilla creamer, but after too many cups I feel like I'm drinking glue.

I like an eggnog latte in winter, but cut with soy milk.

I like strong strong coffee, must be strong, french or vienna roast. Sometimes made in a drip sometimes in a press, sometimes in just a plastic melitta cone thingy over the mug. Depends on my time/ energy and which dishes are clean!

I love coffee.
