Hi. I am fairly new to the food photography world and was wondering if anyone give me advice on my next lens purchase. I use a Nikon D50 ( I know, so old). I have a 55-200mm, 12-24mm, and a 50mm lens. Is there a good "staple" lens to have that I am missing from my set of lens?

EGGANOMICS for Kids @ KitchenPals-CookingStudio.com

KitchenPals-CookingStudio.com will create and share lots of cooking ideas and activities.

"Egganomics" is for our Kitchen Pals Cooking Academy "Certified 'Lil Cooks" children ages 6 and up and teens who can join when they have signed up to become members at KitchenPalsCookingStudio.

Ice Cream Social "Birthday Party"

Family and friends and the kids helped plan and stage this fabulous party. The kids slurped Root Beer Floats, dipped into Ice Cream Sundaes, designed their own Ice Cream Cones and some even baked their favorite cookies . . . ! This was a real WOW!

Their favorite Sundae was:
Melon Parfait with Yogurt...believe it or not!
Ingredients here are for four (put into tall parfait glasses) for more servings just repeat.

1 cup Dulcinea Tuscan Style.tm. Cantaloupe. Can be diced or made into melon balls.
1 cup fresh apple, peeled and diced
16 ounces nonfat strawberry yogurt (or choose another flavor)
2 cups low-fat granola
1 cup Dulcinea.tm. mini-seedless watermelon
1 cup low-fat whipped topping

Spoon 1/4 cup cantaloupe into each parfait glass; then, drizzle 1/4 cup yogurt and then sprinkle with 1/4 cup granola; then layer fruit, yogurt, and granola, finish with watermelon on top, then. a dollop of whipped topping on the top. I clipped this from the Safeway "Fresh Ideas Magazine" !

Remember to take this recipe with you when you shop for your Birthday Bash!

the best cup of coffee, is it the beans, the roast, the water

Lately I have read passionate blog posts, waxing poetic about the best coffee. I totally get it. In San Francisco it's Blue Bottle and Ritual. In Chicago it's all about Intelligenstia. What I'm wondering is what makes these coffees so delicious? Is it the beans, the roast, the water? My friend from W VA says it's the water. Thoughts?

I'm sure BA's intention is the same as Getty's. Its a good resource for them during tightening budgets. Instead of paying the current contracted artist for digital usage rights; a lesser fee can be demanded for the blogs, websites... etc. The fee can be adjusted for the industry.
Besides the look of BA has changed so much towards "blogging" as much of the photography in it looks like point and shoot camera work. I think this has thrown away all the work done from past artist and the magazine's heritage. A side effect of being in Los Angeles too long.
For the most part the magazine is starting to look "amateur".

One of my images from this group appeared on the
Bon Ap Facebook and blog in the late summer.
(It was a picture of an Italian eggplant I took at a Farmers
Market:

I found it by accident and was quite surprised and
there was no clue as to who posted it.
The photo was attributed to me, but there wasn't a
caption to why it was posted.
Weird?
I thought so...

I haven't seen any other images from this group
(mine or images of others in this group) posted there since.

I also wish Bon Ap was a little clearer about the purpose
of this group.
