Hello my name is Jeffrey Carvalho. I have just picked up photography in 2013. Cant say that I have as strong of passion for many other things. I have also recently started a Tumblr to showcase my work I have on Flickr. I am looking for other photographers like me, that want to share their work with other likeminded photographers. And generate quality views and comments. I look forward to being inspired by others, trading tips and how to's and commenting on one another's work. Posting shots of people to California Photographer

When I set up this group I thought about how to handle images of people. In the end, I decided that people were allowed only so long as they were notable Californian's. People such as actors (who live or work in the state), politicians (so long as it's not an ad), scientist, CEOs of major California businesses....or anyone else who has gained fame or notoriety and are directly connected to California.

Please try to limit your shots of people to those that would be interesting to a wide variety of California Photographers.

Last weekend I was up there -- and waterfalls were all thin. If they ran at all.

Hi,

I don't know where you landed up but I can highly recommend my recent trip to Sequoia National Park and Yosemite... no doubt you have been there before.... I stayed in little towns near the Parks... Visalia La Quinta inn, charming little downtown area and headed through Three Rivers... beautiful places to stop along the way in....
Mariposa (Best Western) was where I stayed to get into Yosemite... the drive from that direction along the river is gorgeous and there was still lots of fall colors left Thanksgiving weekend...

If you went North, I enjoyed staying in a little town called Mill Valley just over the GoldenGate Bridge. Charming little town and very short drive to John Muir Redwoods.... besides all the San Fran scenes... nice beach to photograph down that hill too...

Down South in Southern CA- I have lots of ideas so email me if you need some ideas....

Recommendations for a long weekend

I was told I need to take a few days off so I am going on a road trip this weekend. I live in Salinas CA which near the Monterey Bay. Lots of things to see and shoot around here but it will be good to get away.
I am not sure about my plans yet, may just get in the car and drive till its time to turn around. I will leave either thursday afternoon or friday morning and have to be back to work on Tuesday.

Any suggestions for locations or stops. Right now I am leaning towards driving north along the coast, but am open to suggestions. Not sure how far north I will be able to go.

Anybody want to meet up and go shoot somewhere?
