This group is about Kent....it's cities, it's buildings....it's countryside and it's coast.

But remember folks, it's Kent...not Sussex, not Essex etc.

Kent Photo Library, an online resource for images of Kent

kentcreativearts posted a new topic:

The Kent Photo Library - set up by Kent Creative Arts CIC, the organisers of the 365 projects - is a comprehensive online, good value, rights-managed selection of the best of Kent’s imagery. It welcomes good quality images and you will receive a fee when your images are sold.
The Library includes images that encapsulate the county of Kent – from icons to the ordinary, quaint to the quirky.
Join forces to create the biggest and best library of Kent images and be part of a community of photographers, supporting community photography projects in Kent.

The aim is to build an online image resource for images of Kent that gives opportunities to all photographers to show their images, whilst offering affordable prices to users at the same time. This way, it offers real benefits to both the photographers and the buyers.

Anyone who wants to illustrate their connection with the wonderful Garden of England, will find this a very useful and instant source to download images for a variety of usages.
Via the popular Photoshelter platform, images can be searched, viewed and purchased online for digital or printed use, with rights attached or as prints for personal use.
Rights managed images can be purchased for magazine articles, leaflets, PowerPoint presentations, brochure, websites etc... any kind of medium where a photograph of Kent is needed. A license only gives the right to someone to use an image in specific conditions, it doesn't pass over any copyright. The copyright of the photographs is exclusively the photographer’s.
When users order prints, their request is dealt with Spectrum Photographic who will organise the prints and send them to the customers.

Go to www.kentphotolibrary.org to see how to add your images to the Kent Photo Library
Or contact info@kentphotolibrary.org for more information

There's a lone Cypress or maybe Cedar just outside of Sittingbourne which Andy Mac and his son have photographed. It's on a hill and very picturesque.

For old buildings you are spoilt for choice: Rochester (a bit of a stretch in 30 minutes!); Canterbury; Tenterden; Smarden and many more.

Try the north coast at Reculver or around the Faversham area.

All fairly predictable but if you haven't been their it will be new to you. Hope it helps.

Hi All

A few colleague have started doing photography evenings in Kent and are after some good location within 30 minutes of Ashford. Have recently shot Dungeness, Folkestone Pier and Harbour Station and Hythe Beaches.

Can anyone recommend any locations that would be free entry and within this area? Interested in seascapes, landscapes, old buildings etc.

Thanks for your help

Please could anyone tell me where I can find a lone tree to photograph in kent or nearby to Kent.
Ideally I like the tree on the brow of a hill standing on it’s own with no other background distractions but hopefully with some foreground interest.
