I own very rare books (in french) I'm from France ...

I own books written by Charles A. Swinburne (in English)
I do not own old books from Renée Vivien (1877-1909) because they are too expensive... for example, one of her boohs with her handwriting = 1400 euros ...

I prefer publish my own books of her from her manuscripts (owned by the bnf national library of france)

I own the books I photograph. I have collected books since I was a kid, basically because I loved them. Some I bought for their covers or titles; others for their illustrations or printing methods; some for their content; and others for reasons I can no longer remember. I grew up surrounded by books, old and new. My kids, too, are book lovers and readers.

Every one of the books and manuscripts I post is from my own collection. With manuscripts that are "broken up" by dealers, I buy as many individual leaves as possible and bind them together, keeping the aesthetic of the codex format.

Antique books are scroll [rotulus] books - papyrus, parchment existing in ancient times up to 476 years. From that time until mid-fifteenth century is a codex books - manuscripts. Since the invention Gutenberg the end of the fifteenth century [plus the 20] are first printing editions - incunabula. From the fifteenth to the eighteenth century, the old books. Nineteenth and twentieth centuries is a modern book.

I still have a set of the OZ books. I didn't realize they were worth anything. I also have an 1862 state of the union by Lincoln. Govt. print edition. How do I find out if these are worth anything. Do I need to post a photo?
