I am doing an audio slideshow project about film's comeback. I want to find some photographers to interview and shoot.

I'm a film shooter myself, though I use a DSLR for my work. There is just something about analogue photography that I still just love.

Why do you still love film? Or are you coming from a digital background and only now you are switching to film?

Legacy: The Preservation of Wilderness at the Museum of the City of New York

Hello. I'd just like to alert you all to an exhibition that I think will be of great interest to your group. The Museum of the City of New York is currently hosting "Legacy: The Preservation of Wilderness," the first photographic study of New York's parks since the 1930s.

The impressive exhibition of large-scale photographs comes from Joel Meyerowitz, a pioneer of fine-art color photography and the creator of the seminal book, Cape Light. Meyerowitz's newest photographs document the untamed nature of the city's hard-won open spaces.

Hi, everyone. I just wanted to let you all know about a great event and new exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York. The Edge of New York: Waterfront Photographs features classic work from artists like Berenice Abbott, as well as contemporary work from Diane Cook and Len Jenshel. Cook and Jenshel will be at the museum tomorrow evening at 6:30., discussing their own work and the changing role of the waterfront in the City. Thought it would be of particular interest to this group. Thanks.

On behalf of the Museum of the City of New York, I wanted to alert you to an exciting event at 6:30pm this Tuesday. The museum has just opened a fabulous new exhibit, The Edge of New York: Waterfront Photographs, which features both historic photographs, like Berenice Abbott’s and Adreas Feininger’s iconic, mid-century images of the City’s working ports, and contemporary photos by Diane Cook and Len Jenshel, whose recent work examines the juxtaposition of old and new in the renewed waterfront. Cook and Jenshel will be at the museum Tuesday evening to discuss their work and the evolving NYC waterfront. The event will be a wonderful evening for both amateur and professional photography enthusiasts.

I thought this would be of particular interest to your group. Please also note that beyond the event Tuesday evening, the exhibition will remain open through November 29. Further information is available via the links below.

This coming Thursday, there is a flickr is hosting 24 hours of Flickr, New York , an event being held from 6-9 PM at Cedar Lake Dance, a studio located at 26th between 10th and 11th Avenues, to launch a new book they are publishing.

Like last time, when I drowned my camera in a bottle of pilfered vodka, I've arranged an extended happy hour (from 9-10) at a great bar called The Half King located at 505 West 23rd (@ 10th Avenue).

The Half King regularly hosts great photography exhibits. Check out their online gallery for upcoming talks by the photographers.

So, please join us! If you are free and available and willing to get drunk with us and have a good time...Please register here so that we have an idea of how many tables to reserve.
