No worries on the misunderstanding, Marlis. The mission statement, if you'd call it that, is this:

"So, sure, it's early, but the light is so fantastic!

sorry guys- this is THIS PERSON ---- has there been a change in 'mission statement' so to speak? When I joined there did not seem to be any specific rules. So I guess this is for early risers- I will try to remember.

I think you're right. It takes a lot of commitment, and a thick skin, to aggressively moderate the pool in a group with specialized requirements. There's not much going on in the discussions either; your post is the first one in 9 months....

Hi all, I've just joined this group and had hoped to find a lively and exciting forum for this type of photography. Unfortunately I now realise that due to the fact you all get up so early in the morning, you have to sleep for the rest of the day and as a consequence, never have time to (a) submit images to the group and (b) never have time to post comments.
Please prove me wrong and lets see some new images and some interesting posts. Or is there a better group I should join?

Jim Richardson Open House - National Geographic

For anyone interested, Jim Richardson is hosting an open house at his Small World Gallery on Main Street in Lindsborg, KS on March 17th. Should be open by 10am and run thru early evening. This will be followed by a reception and display on Monday March 19th under the Rotunda at the State Capitol in Topeka. I belive this opens also at 10am and runs through the afternoon.

On display will be images from the assignment Jim did last year for the April issue this year, all taken in the flint hills of Kansas.

Be on the lookout for this exhibit to tour selected towns in the flint hills.
