Not sure on this because I haven't tried on newsprint...so do a test. How about Krylon Polycrylic? I buy it from Lowe's or Home Depot...I've used it on paper and seems to do the job for me.....

How about Robert Pollard? Guided By Voices frontman. His book : 'Town of Mirrors' is excellent as is his periodical self published collage mag 'Eat'.
I rate it as good as anyone's work.

I'm working on a series of large photo collages, each one made up of hundreds of 4"x6" prints on photo lab paper from film negatives. Right now they are held together by Scotch tape on the back. I need a long-term archival museum-quality solution that will hold these works together without risk of destroying them or having them fall apart.

I know Scotch tape adhesive will dry, crack and possibly eat through photos or yellow them from beneath. But I haven't found a better alternative. I don't like glue because when i'm composing them i need to be able to pull the tape off photos and re-compose.

Some recommend dry mounting on foam core or a Golden Artists varnish on the front of the collages. An art conservator thought varnish a mistake. Some recommend I replace the Scotch tape with an archival tape, so I bought a few rolls of Framer's Tape II, which looks exactly like Scotch tape only cost 10 times the price. Very time consuming, not sure of the benefit. Any feedback or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
