California Native Grasses

Please post photos of grasses which you believe are native to and shot in California. Please comment lots - esp. if you know or think you know the names of some of the grasses. Also post a comment if you have any info about it's horticultural properties - whether or not it's been tried in a landscape. Thanks!

Only California Natives Please

edgehill posted a new topic:

Not to be rude but it's so hard to find CNG info & photos, this group should really not include non-natives even though they can be very pretty. Well, maybe it's useful to learn to ID those too but they should be very clearly labeled as invasive species if that's the case. Obviously there will be mystery grasses & such but... I don't know how these groups work exactly but it would make sense for the admin to simply remove those photos. Or would it be rude of me to comment on those photos, pointing it out?

My main point is photos shouldn't be put in here because they look like a beautiful natural scene but are in fact a weedy mess.
