The American Library Association now provides a free, online tool for creating your own mini READ poster for use as a web badge or profile picture on your blog and on social networking sites.

Give it a try, and then post your pictures to this pool so that we can all see them! You're free to use your mini poster in any non-commercial way.

To give us feedback, leave a comment here or on the new READ CD blog.

A lot of you probably know this, but The Shifted Librarian created a Read Mini Poster Generator, so now no one has any excuse not to make their own Read Poster. And those of you just joining us, thanks for all the great posters!

Thanks! I've had back problems, so I haven't been able to work on my Nancy Pearl Action Figure photos. It will definitely have a kung fu theme, though.

Believe it or not, one of the Newport Public Library's posters was taken down by a bookstore owner because he thought it was too violent.

I think Jessmyn has us beat!

Well, I bet everyone thought I forgot about my earlier promise to declare someone's submission the best, and I kinda did, but now I am totally arbitrarily naming Jessamyn's the best:

and not because I love her blog, I just have a sick sense of humor. Jessmyn, please contact me via Flickrmail with an address and a t-shirt size.

This doesn't mean you can't keep submitting posters, of course! I know there are still some great ones out there. Or try this group on for size:
