I love Nurnberg! So much to see (almost too much) and in the middle of the old town it is just so beautiful. I really want to make a trip back next December, specifically to visit it again.
After moving back to the US five years ago, I am lucky to be relatively close to Chicago. While it doesn't compare to any of the Christmas Markets in Europe, it is the best one in the United States.

Over the years (the last 11 bar 1) I've been to 30+ markets, I love Luebeck & Goslar, but my favourite has to be Erfurt (just)
A beautiful town with a great market, and the cathedral is stunning.
Goslar is second, another beautiful place with a market that is spread out, the sights and sounds are wonderful. Luebeck could be equal second for the same reason, it has wonderful architecture, plus the Schiffergesellschaft!

Thought I would start a new discussion. So in your opinion where is the best Christmas Market in the world and why?

Personally it would be either Berlin, Nuremburg or Munich. Why - because of the size and variation. Smell of Gluehwein also helped!
