826 PARANORMAL posted a new topic:

826 Paranormal Sergeant James Myers of the Bridgeport Police department gives his top ten haunted locations in Bridgeport . This list in no way gives anyone permission to enter these locations.

Top Ten:
Remington Arms
Poli Palace Theater
Savoy Hotel
Pequonnuck Cemetery
Lakeview Cemetery
Park Cemetery
211 State Street Exchange building
GE building ( Boston Ave)
Mt. Grove Cemetery
Lindley Street house
Thorme Street Fire house
Cathlic center
University of Bridgeport ( A&H building , and Cortright Hall)
Parkcity Hospital
St. Vincents Hospital
St. Vincent's nursing college
Fairfield Ave/ Railroad Ave overpass (train)
Union station Union Street
Father panic fields
Police academy 405 Newfield Avenue
St . Margaretts Shrine
Harding High School
Buroughs Library
210 Washington Ave.
This just to name a few. of course I got carried away and could not stop at 10. If you are going to venture to these locations, most you will need permission by property owner or manager. The police do not like unwanted guests. They will give you tickets, if you do not have clearance to be there.
Happy hunting

Hello everyone...my name is Dennis. I'm from Madison, Wisconsin and a newbie to the group. I've always been drawn to abandoned places for not only the thrill of possibly coming across someone or something inside them but the haunting mysteries that enshroud them. I can stand outside a long forgotton place and let my thoughts roam free. Over time i've discovered that if you listen with an open mind you can almost hear the silent whispers of the folks that once inhabited these places waft upon the breeze and once again...reclaimed by the forgotton past.

What is it about an abandoned town, house, institution, car, etc, etc that completely draws you in? Is it the curiosity in who used to be there? The story behind the person who used it? What it may have looked like in it's glory days? The adrenaline that gets pumping when you step inside an abandoned location? What is it that draws you in? What keeps you coming back for more?
for me its a combination of all of these, plus a desire to record places before they disappear to make way for progress...

Hi everyone :)

I just wanted to let everyone know I've just released my first photography book. It's a photographic study of Gary Indiana's historic architecture. It covers 7 historically significant structures that I have documented over the past several years. I aim to raises awareness in hope that some of these beautiful buildings be saved for future generations. If preserved these buildings could play a key role in Gary's revitalization. The book contains over 80 photographs and 7 building biographies.

I just think it is interesting to see nature reclaim what has been built and neglected by humans. How wind, rain, snow, sun, plants, and animals slowly take over a structure, year by year. And I do wonder about the people who lived and worked there, such as did anyone ever die there, and if so, are their spirits still around......
