I've just created a "My LOC Favourites" group for you (spelt exactly as you indicated). But Flickr doesn't seem to allow a search against it - there are only 3 categories, Photos, Groups and People.

If you search on all 3 words (together) without quotes, you seem to get everyone's (or some) 'Favourites'; plus 'LOC' itself, when used in pic's name, or possibly tag. With quotes you draw nothing.

Am I missing something? Have you a macro/script to trawl for results?
Help the Library of Congress create a new set of photographs for Flickr!

Bronwen Colquhoun posted a new topic:

The Library of Congress is asking for your help to curate a new set of photographs for Flickr Commons.

We’re eager to find out what interests you and would love for you to express yourselves visually by creating a personal gallery. The most popular pictures will form a new set that reflects your diverse interests and expertise. Your input will help us select more gems from our collections that you would like to see uploaded in the future.

Here's how:

• First, create a new gallery in your Flickr account with the title 'My LOC Favorites'.
• Add ten of your favorite images from the Library of Congress sets on Flickr (www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/sets/). Top ten only, please!
• It would be great if you could explain the reasons for your choices beside each image. More detail can help guide our future selections for Flickr.

You have until Friday, August 31st to create your gallery. Once we have looked at everyone’s galleries, we will post a new Flickr set highlighting the top selections.

We have also started a discussion in the Flickr Commons Group and would love for you to tell us more about your interests and motivations for participating in the co-curation project in more detail: www.flickr.com/groups/flickrcommons/discuss/7215763090039...

Further information is also available on the Library's 'Picture This' blog: blogs.loc.gov/picturethis/2012/08/the-photography-meetup-...

This project is being coordinated by Prints and Photographs Division staff and Bronwen Colquhoun, a British PhD student from Newcastle University whose research focuses on how cultural institutions are using Flickr Commons to promote their collections and support community engagement. She is carrying out a fellowship at the Library until September 2012 and has been doing similar projects with other UK-based Flickr Commons institutions including the National Maritime Museum (blog.flickr.net/en/2012/05/23/curate-the-commons) and Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums.

If you have any questions please make a comment on this post (others may have the same question) or contact us at flickrpilot@loc.gov.

We look forward to seeing your selections!

Barton & Others Propose H.R. 1815 - Possible Relief
April 8, 2009 by Dana

The submission of the bill HR 1815 by Rep Barton and a handful of other Representatives is meant to clarify the applicability of certain provisions of the CPSIA (and for other purposes).

We recommend that you read this bill and then contact your your representatives to ask that they co-sponsor or vote in favor of this bill.

CAPITAL HILL RALLY TO AMEND CPSIA.

I just received this email and think it's worth sharing.

Amend The CPSIA
www.AmendTheCPSIA.com

Dear Supporter,

I am sure you are aware of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) and the unintended and disastrous consequences this ill written law has on our National economy. Businesses large to small have been working to Amend this Law and so far, without success. However, I am very pleased to announce that Amend the CPSIA is organizing a Rally on Capital Hill, April 1st from 10am EST to 11:30am EST. For complete information regarding this historic event please visit our website at AmendtheCPSIA.com. We will have congressional representation, industry leaders and businesses owners, affected and outraged by this law, there to speak on behalf of all of our businesses that are currently in jeopardy. I urge you to participate and there are many ways to do so via the website. You can:
Join us at the Rally! Click here for more information.

Submit your personal story online about how this law has affected you and your business.
Get Involved with our organization and let your voice be heard! Click here for more information.

We have a large list of Sponsors including Goodwill Industries, Handmade Toy Alliance, Motorcycle Industry Council, and the Alliance for Children’s Product Safety, just to name a few. The list showcases the broad impact this law has on so many vital organizations in our communities.

We invite you to join us at the Rally. Please submit a Registration form* (*not required to attend) so that we can keep track of attendees at the event. We also ask that you subscribe to the site so that you can receive email updates as they are posted. At the Rally there will be a check in table with information about the impacts of the CPSIA, samples of products affected, and great souvenirs to buy to help defer the costs of the event.

We truly appreciate your ongoing support to Amend the CPSIA. Participate and be heard!

Let's keep children's products safe, and American businesses in business!

Sincerely

Dawn Michelle LaPolla
A well-intentioned but poorly-written law, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's Website has made pre-1985 children's books an endangered item. The devil is in the details. For more info please read the discussions and check at the links at
