i would go the $5 reversing ring route....I have to use a toothpick or something like that too on my Sony lenses.

Hello, if you want close fotos then buy 50mm premium lens and it will cost no more than 90$ the new one. with 18-200 you can make perfect pictures but is is tele zoom and as macro it is not so advicible. the perfect change for kit lens is 50mm or 35 mm fixed lense. hope you will catch the right moments and much light i wish to you.

Buy a $5 reversing ring on eBay.

...And don't let anyone tell you that you can't reverse a Nikon G lens. You just need to put something (like a toothpick) in the aperture clip to open the lens up a bit.

i recently bought a nikon d3100, all I have at the moment is the 18-55mm kit lens... I will probably get something like the 18-200mm next
The kit lens is ok but I want something a little better
I don't want to go over 100 on it... could I get one that price- I don't mind second-hand
The quality doesn't have to be 100% because I wont be using it that often, just something that will let me get a little closer to the subject
Would the 200mm be any better than the kit lens
