Thanks a lot for your answer, I know my question was a bit weird. I did some of what you said and I did get 3-4 pictures I liked. What confuses me is that I usually "see" the outcome before I start so I know where I'm going or at least what I my objective is. With her, since she's beautiful, I have many options and can vitually shoot her in any pose, but I "see" nothing and don't know where I'm going, so I shoot randomly and see afterwards if inspiration has finally struck. Pretty awkward! In the end I think she might be too intimidating for me and she's blocking my view, so to speak. I guess I need more experience to back me up.. Again thanks a lot for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it. :)

Relax! Let your creative mind flow. Worrying about the outcome with out having a plan will stress you out and hinder your artistic eye I would find some inspiration photos for ideas so you feel a little more confident. Watch your light and remember to shoot shoot shoot. Also knowing how to manipulate your DSLR (i'm assuming that's what your using) manually will help as well. If you get 3-5 good shots out of the bunch it was a success. Instructing your model is important as well (Chin up, open eyes wide etc..) What seems uncomfortable for the model may look great in your shots. Be aware of your surroundings and don't be afraid to try anything. Use everything at your disposal. I'm not sure where you are shooting but outside around 3:30-4:00 in the afternoon in an interesting environment can really help you be successful. I hope this helps. Happy shooting.

The Shapeshifter posted a new topic:

Hi everyone,
I am an amateur who has started portraiture with friend models, and i'm really at the beginning of the adventure! Recently I have taken photos of a beautiful friend who knows she's beautiful, who loves being a model, and who is stressing me out because she is expecting me to make her look good - at the very least - on the pictures. As a result I feel intimidated and can't think straight about how I should capture her. Any advice from more exprerienced - or self-confident photographers? Thanks!!

Well, I've always really been fascinated with portraiture photography and I've been practicing a lot lately, asking a few people here and there to voluntarily model for me, and I guess what I'm asking is for some pointers, advice to improve my photography.

Thanks in advance.
