I agree, that Day Creek crossing is more like a water run off spout than anything else! Yeesh.

I see you're not a fan of the Day Creek Crossing either. If you would like to add your voice to ours, come join us at our weekly meeting tonight, Wednesday, the 14th, at 6pm at the REI on the corner of Day Creek and Foothill.

My wife, Elaine, and I rode the just opened section of the Pacific Electric Bike Trail this past Sunday morning starting just east of Etiwanda where the trail temporarily dead ends, and riding all the way west to Amethyst and back again. Really enjoyed the trail, and except for the Day Creek street crossing, I thought all of the crossings were done quite nicely with signals where necessary. Another thing I liked about this section is that when you pressed the crosswalk button the light changed within 15 seconds usually. This is one of the things about the Upland section I don't like.....sometimes you wait 1-2 minutes for the lights to change. Overall once the Upland and Rancho Cucamonga sections are connected this will be a great round trip ride of around 21 miles!

Hi!

If you were at the grand opening ceremony that the city of Rancho Cucamonga did for their section of the Pacific Electric Trail, then you might already know about our plans for a 2008 calendar which will be sold to raise additional funds for trail improvements, and we need your help!

Submit 3 of your favorite shots of the trail by November 5th, 2007. If yours is selected for the calendar, we'll send you a copy of the calendar to you to show off to your friends!

Please tag your submissions as "FOTPET_2008_Calendar" for it to be considered.

THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK!

My girlfriend and I went on the Upland trail last night, starting from Grove.

Our first impression.. Dang, that's a lot of street crossings! Some of the major intersections could use some signal lights.

Have you tried out the parts of the Rancho Cucamonga trail yet? The part between Grove and Amethyst isn't done yet, but past that it's rideable out to Etiwanda. :)

We've had the bike trail quite a while in Upland, which was the inspiration for us to finally get bikes again.

I used to bike all the time, the 29 years I lived in Denmark and the 10 years of college and grad school before that, so I really missed having an easy place to ride here. (Riding north is a bit hard for my 64-year-old legs that have been used to relatively gentle Danish hills.)

But now I ride everywhere I go in Upland between about 15th and 7th streets, and E / W on the trail.
