Many different groups are in the disaster relief business.
In some cases the funds are chanelled through different non profit organisations and tend to dwindle...
Personally , I saw the results of what the RED CROSS provides and it is a formidable achievement.
Well organized,functional,helpful,charitable...and I can go on and on !
The RED CROSS has proven itself and keeps its standing as a forerunner in the tasks of disaster relief.
Do not be afraid to contribute directly to
Help bahrain !!!!

Bahrain_14Feb2011 posted a new topic:

Please help, from Bahrain Salmaniya Medical Complex is surrounded by Saudi and Bahraini Military preventing injured or any case to enter for aiding !!!
1. Medical Faculty are not allowed to exit or enter the hospital, even some were arrested and shot.
2. Electricity and water was disconnected.
3. Medical supplies and food supplies has finished from the hospitals and the military are not allowing any to enter.
4. Many of the ICU cases are deteriorated and some are clinicly dead.
5. This is the largest hospital in Bahrain and on daily bases it receives tens of pregnancy cases; which today many were serious but not allowed by military to enter and hence many deaths were there.
6. Dead and injured people are everywhere in the roads, while the riots stolen many ambulances and not allowing the others to reach them. Many has bleeded to death (were killed with live ammunition-international forbidden).
We in Bahrain demand the USA Red Cross not to be like the Regime in USA that did not push the Bahraini regime to stop the massacre (while they could do so with a phone call!!!), as the red-cross principles are based on humanitarian bases. PLEASE HELP !!!!!

To honour all humanitarians and increase public understanding of humanitarian assistance activities worldwide, the United Nations General Assembly has chosen to dedicate the 19th of August to commemorate World Humanitarian Day. On this day, we will pause to remember the hundreds of UN and non-governmental organization workers who have lost their lives while carrying out their duties and to acknowledge the ongoing work of humanitarian staff.
