3x £200 Jessops vouchers are up for grabs in the summer round of the Leicestershire Through a Lens competition!

DEADLINE 31ST AUGUST

Leicestershire Through a Lens asks amateur photographers of all ages to submit photographs which they feel best represent the community. This year’s challenge is that all photographs must feature people as the subject.

There are three age categories – 11 years and under, 12 – 18 years and over 19s. One photograph will be selected from each category during each of the four seasonal rounds and each winner will be published in the 2011 Leicestershire Through a Lens calendar to raise money for a number of local charities.

There's a place called Bluecarrot in Nottingham I think.

Just been to one near Loughborough too, but am unsure if the chap who runs it is openly advertising or not. If I get an OK from him I'll pop it in here.

Seems like Leicestershire is desperately under-serviced for economical studio space :(

Have you tryed this place? www.3iimages.com/index.html last year there where charging £40 per hour to non-students or £10 to students.

Or if you have your own equipment try hiring a village hall.

There is one on Hinckley Road, but is very small and very expensive (they use Bowens equipment). I heard that there is as well new one near Highcros above DOMINOS shop. I have studio equipment but do not have enough space :(

film crew need photo person

there is a si fi film being made this weekend in Leicester. the film are looking for a photographer to take stills to promote the film and for the co op to use for pr.
the film is being shot in markfield on sat night. if your up for it youll be needed from 9pm till about 3 am
this is a no budget film and no one is getting paid so sadly its a non paid job, how ever the film will be usind in film festivals all over the world and the co op will also wan tto use the images and you will get credited for the images.

sky ride photo comp and exhibition

Sorry for the lateness of this post but I’ve only just got the info my self!.

This weekend it’s the sky ride in Leicester. Leicester city council is asking photographers to take pictures of the big day capturing all aspects of it.

They are offering 3 prizes of £100 and a public exhibition of before Christmas 2009
