hey everyone
just joined up and started a dig for veg group if anyone is interested in starting a plant exhange, we just did one give it a go. planning a dig and divide in the autumn for perennuals, we got a really diverse group of fab keen growers from aged 5-85 and lots of lovely new plants.

Great articles!! Its so scary to think of the future when our world has such intelligent people governing us:). Canada has been feeling some strain with new regulations on our small producers as well. Considering the prediction of a major food crisis small growers should be encouraged. Need a stronger "support local farmers" campaign to kinda throw it in their faces I say.

I am a hydroponic gardener and I am container gardening as an experiment to see just how late you can go in this area into the winter.
I am growing in a glassed-in but unheated back porch that gets plenty late season sun, a sort of cheap greenhouse.At present I have broccoli,thyme,parsley, oregano garlic, carrots and marjoram. I have just sprouted, mini cabbage, brussel sprouts, another type of broccoli, You can see my setup on my flickr page.

What kinds of winter wonders are you growing? Just because the weather is cooling off, doesn't mean the whole garden is getting put to bed.
I've got beets, parsnips, & winter radishes started. Still waiting for a frost or two to pull the horseradish. I got the garlic planted but I need to find some more containers so I can get the onions in.
