Hi, I am organizing an exhibition in HK. We are inviting 100 artists / illustrators / designers from different places to design a Xmas gift box for an exhibition in a big and new shopping mall MEGABOX (www.megabox.com.hk) in HK. The box will carry a gift for charity sales, income will be donated to a charity organization.

The time allowed is only one week, we need to collect the ai file of design by 14/11/07. It's very rush! Do you want to join?

My work is a world called big plastic factory.

BigPlasticFactory depicts a world filled with small heroes and the miniature epics they face—an ongoing contradiction of sorts. The candy-noir comic is updated with new issues semi-bi-weekly, with daily

I recently heard a lecture by AbdouMaliq Simone on subaltern groups in Douala, Cameroon (Africa's largest non-capital city). It was a terrific lecture, a look into another world. He spoke about informal strikes; the strange artifacts kids collect as badges of their adventures across the city; and a class of young, female domestics (slaves, really) who have gained status and power through channeling spirits. So I just picked up his book "For the City Yet to Come" and am looking forward to diving in.

Am currently into biographies - Dorothy Parker and Oscar Wilde. My big summer reading projects are tackling books I've been putting off (Moby Dick is next!).

A recent obsession though is mosaics - all messy and lovely and I discovered cutting tiles is a good way to channel my angst!

I thought it was amazing. I love the rough brushes of his art and they way he used it spoke volumes.

Some of my favorite panels include the one where he's burning his art in the outside garbage can and he's throwing his chest out to the heavens as lightning bolts come out of his mouth.

I grew up in a pretty conservative home and I can remember the kind of church ski trips he describes. What I like is that even though he seems to reject some of that upbringing, he still sees the good in it and is not afraid to admit that's a part of him.

I found a lot of myself in this story.
