Nikon Digital

Nikon has been renowned for high-quality optics and camera equipment since they were founded in 1917. The history of Nikon cameras began in 1948, the year that the Nikon I, the company's first camera was released. Today Nikon continues that legacy with an outstanding line of digital cameras including the D7000, D3x, and the many popular Coolpix models.

This group is a place for users of Nikon digital cameras to share their experiences, demonstrate techniques through example, and discuss Nikon's latest offerings.

Thanks all

One other question (or - picking the brains of others who my have different experiences than I... :) ) -

I have a manual focus 50mm -

Nikon 50mm Series E f/1.8 from my old FM.

I've heard it was super sharp - but as sharp (or sharper) than the newer 50mm f1/8D?

I don't mind using it in full manual mode if it's a super sharp lens.

Oh - and, any super great manual focus 35mm Nikon lens' out there?

Whether you are against or for the new format, I believe this is not the best forum to catch the eye of the flickr admins. They currently have their hands full reading the posts on the help forum. You will have a better chance reaching them there than here.

OTOH, help with the new flickr navigation is always welcome. There were a number of bugs in the site when it was first switched, but a number of them have been corrected now. As it was a significant change, it may take a bit of time to complete debugging.

It's definitely a big switch, but I like it. I think the feeling of confusion that a lot of people are having is just an adjustment period that comes with any sizable change in anything. But I think that it certainly needed an update! The page looked like it was from 2005 (centuries old, in internet terms).

My biggest issue with it at first was that clicking the Flickr icon didn't take me to my Recent Activity page. However, once I found that, I'm feeling pretty good about it. Really, they didn't do any structural movement except for the homepage and the photo streams, both of which needed it.

Overall, I think it's a good move.

The new flickr layout is a train wreck.

Despite that, a number of my flickr contacts have left flickr.

Did Yahoo-flickr do _any_ research to find out our needs and preferences are?

Yahoo has been silent about that.

It would appear that Yahoo cares less about function and usability.

It looks like—else, knock on wood—that Yahoo hasn't completely destroyed all of their pages.

If you are only looking at the aspect of low light, when considering to upgrade to a full frame camera, then clearly you don't yet need a full frame camera just yet. :)

Without a doubt go for the lens. I have this lens, and given a choice to shoot with a D7000 with this lens, I'd choose the lens. It's not at all a difficult choice. :)
